This auction is for Roger K. Smith 1981 and 1992 hard back books with the dust cover jackets and one autographed . I think they were bought as a set and only one autographed as both have the same man's name on inside cover of the books.  The blue one is the first volume dated 1981 titled Patented Transitional & Metallic Planes in America 1827-1927 with 336 numbered pages all very legible.  The red one is Patented Transitional & Metallic Planes In America Vol. II The books measure 8 1/2" x 11".  Both contain illustrations and descriptions and superb photographs, some in color.  There is information on rare Bailey and Stanley planes.  There are historical facts on plane manufacturers.  They include a bibliography and index   Both books are in very good condition.  The blue one's dust cover has some wear on top end but still displays nicely.  Buyer to pay shipping via media mail in USA.  NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.  Email with questions.
